The RIAA has lost their fucking mind; sue dead man's family
The RIAA filed suit quite some time ago against an elderly man they claim downloaded pirate music using the Kazaa network. The man and his wife denied all charges. The RIAA lawyers are ON RECORD trying to distort witness statements and put words in witnesses mouths as well as outright telling witnesses to lie about certain facts "or we will lose the case"!! Now, the man being sued is dead. You would think that would be the end of it... but NOOOOOOO. The RIAA has asked for a 60-day break so that the family can "grieve"... and then it's back to court to depose the surviving family members!! OMFG!!!!
That's it. I will never buy anything from a band represented by the RIAA, until/unless these evil fucking bastards radically change their ways. And I don't mean a slow change, I want massive firings within that highly corrupt organization. I want a new RIAA leader to come out at a press conference and say "yeah, we TOTALLY fucked up, this does not help our artists at all, we saw the writing on the wall and now embrace the will of the people... which is to stop these stupid lawsuits. We will still target the very large file sharers, people who have tens of thousands of songs that are online for months at a time, freely shared with no regard to the law, and we have deicded to dramatically step up our efforts to stop large-scale duplication piracy coming to and from other countries since that is truly where all our lost revenue is, but we are done suing childred and dead people."... but what are the odds of that? My uncle Kent would say "wake up outta that dream world you're livin' in, boy!" and he would likely be right.
RIAA, you are just about the most evil fucking organization I have ever seen. Teamsters? Feh. Mafia? POSERS! Republicans? Whatever bitch! I guess the only good thing is you are serving as a warning to others... look at the surprising efforts of the MPAA to prepare for legal downloads, and their legal attacks on only the grossest violators like Chinese DVD pirate duplicators where it can clearly be shown they are losing a serious chunk of change. Members of the MPAA has commented off the record on the fervor of the RIAA to sue everyone in sight, and at least OFF the record the message is that the MPAA thinks the RIAA may be approaching this in a very counterproductive and destructive way that they do not wish to emulate. Thanks at least for that, you worthless motherfuckers.
